Eco friendly product shots

I had the opportunity to shoot some products for EcoLicious Equestrian, a local and green company specializing in natural horse care products. The products are formulated with human-grade botanicals, essential oils, organic and plant-derived ingredients from biodegradable and renewable sources. Most of the grooming products available on the market are packed with sulphates, silicone, parabens and other bad things. They’re bad for our and the horses’ health and of course bad for our environment. I don’t have any horses, but I have tried their fabulous hand lotion “Hands on” and it’s really great. If you are the proud owner of a horse or are in need of a really good hand lotion check them out. Here are a few pictures from the product photo shoot.

Be green! Ride green!

Big day

It was a big and exciting day today. I got to move into my new studio space. Working out of my studio at home has been wonderful, but it is a bit like working in a bubble. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice bubble. I think this will be really inspiring for me to be around other artists and become part of the art scene to a bigger degree. The artists I have met so far have been all really welcoming and nice. I can’t wait to spend time at the studio to work and meet the rest of the artist. In total there are 26 artists working out of the space. The studio spaces range from shared to individual spaces. My studio is one of the shared ones (7 artists in a large space). I set up the studio a bit today but I still have to bring my easel, blank canvases etc. I just couldn’t fit anything else into our car. Thanks Kyle for helping me carry and set up my stuff. Here are a few picture. I will make sure to post more once I am working out of the studio. It’s been a wonderful day!

Vintage Carnival

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph the MacDonald Youth Services Gala Dinner for the third year in a row. The event had a vintage carnival theme and the guests were entertained by magicians and a stilt-walking, balloon animal-making clown while playing carnival games and enjoying popcorn and cotton candy.

The live auction featured amazing trips to Churchill, New York, Tuscany and a cruise on the Rhine river. The event raised over $30000 for the Shelter and other MYS programs. What a wonderful event and cause. I had the privilege to meet some wonderful and inspirational people during the event. Enjoy a few of the pictures!

My jewelry

About 5 months ago I started designing silver jewelry. I thought I would share a look at some of the pieces I have created. A side from being an artist I have always wanted to become a goldsmith. A little bit of that dream is coming true and I absolutely love it! Enjoy and let me know if you are interested in purchasing any pieces. You can contact me at anjastudios@shaw.ca

By the way the jewelry is made from recycled silver that is collected from photographic supplies and computer circuit boards. Beautiful jewelry that makes you feel good about yourself and the environment!

Paintings accepted by gallery

Great news. I submitted 6 of my paintings to a local gallery and three of them have been accepted for exhibition.  I am very excited to have my work exhibited. They will be up in at the gallery “Createry” starting May 3 until August sometime. I will post more details about where, when etc. once it gets closer. Strangely I had just selected the same 3 paintings as a quick update on what I have been up. See post from December 31.
